New Discoveries
New Discoveries (1992 and 1993)
Updated On: September 13, 2016
Description: This will be a place to showcase any new finds of Club Pro Set.
New Discoveries: It has been an exciting time for Club Pro Set! My fellow Master Collector, Eric, found some nifty new cards... Bookmarks!! Right now, there is no way to know how many different ones exist. All we know for sure is that these two are the first ever reported!
Bookmarks | ||
Cat. No | Fun Facts | # of Cards |
1 | How are Rainbows Made? | 1 |
2 | Why Do Volcanoes Erupt? | 1 |
3 | Why Does Popcorn Pop? | 1 |
3 |
Additional Information: The cards have BOOKMARK - Knowledge Is Power printed on the front, as well as "Club Pro Set Cards" and "I'd Rather Be Reading" staggered on the background. The copyright is also on the front and reads "1993 Club Pro Set". On the back, the top reads "Fun Facts" and then a topic is discussed. Notice the placement of the Club Pro Set logos. They are to the right of the information this time!
Updates: And yet ANOTHER Bookmark was found by a friend of the blog, Todd. And he even reported a CALENDAR Card as well! They have been added to the lists.
And if this weren't enough, Todd reported a NEW VARIATION! Reptiles 1-9 Gold with ORANGE Backs and a 1992 Copyright! The Smithsonian list has been updated to reflect the find.

Other Discoveries: I noticed that there are two types of binders. The clamps that hold the 9-pocket sleeves are different. One has a manufacturer name, "Koloman Handler - Registered Design" and the metal is bent to three sides. The other does not have a manufacturer name and has the metal curved. Both have the copyright on the back bottom next to the spine that reads "1992 Club Pro Set."
Theory: the "Koloman Handler" version seems to be the earlier produced of the two. It looks more flimsy and is probably the reason why they used another design. Of course, this is only a theory.
Notes: If you see I am missing some information or have proof that what I have posted is incorrect, please email me at 1990proset at gmail dot com. Thanks again for the information Eric!
